Recently I have been doing a series of hummingbird photographs. On this particular day, the hummingbirds were quite active. This bird began hovering directly in my focus zone, and just as I pressed the shutter release, the bird decided to fly straight up. An instant after I captured this image, it flew straight up, as I had anticipated, and disappeared out of view. I was fortunate to capture this image outside our home in Western Washington close to my wife's flowers.
Light fascinates me. It changes constantly, and never stops creating new versions of even familiar objects and scenes we look at every day. It can surprise and awe me on a daily, or even minute by minute basis, and make me want to stop and watch what it does. It creates a multitude of moods, and enriches the human experience in a way that most things don't. I love to capture it in images frozen by my camera. Thanks for stopping by!
