Artist's Description

The Palouse, an area in southeastern Washington State, is a place I have wanted to photograph for years. I had seen many photographs of the Palouse, and some of the most captivating images I had seen were captured from Steptoe Butte, which towers over the landscape at a little more than 3600 feet high. My wife and I have friends that live on the edge of that area, so we combined a trip to visit them with a photographic expedition. Steptoe Butte was one of the priorities for me. I was fortunate enough to drive to the top of Steptoe a total of 4 different times. This is one of the images I captured in the late afternoon from there.

About David Lunde

David Lunde

Light fascinates me. It changes constantly, and never stops creating new versions of even familiar objects and scenes we look at every day. It can surprise and awe me on a daily, or even minute by minute basis, and make me want to stop and watch what it does. It creates a multitude of moods, and enriches the human experience in a way that most things don't. I love to capture it in images frozen by my camera. Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoy these images.
