Hiking in the Sierra Nevada Mountains presents a stiff challenge. Steep climbs and descents are common, and the altitude adds to the difficult terrain, especially for those who live at or near sea level. But there is often a wonderful reward following a long, steep climb. The view at or near the top is almost always breathtaking! I captured this image after such a climb. The spectacular vistas in the Sierra Mountains are worth every step up the side of the mountain.

Light fascinates me. It changes constantly, and never stops creating new versions of even familiar objects and scenes we look at every day. It can surprise and awe me on a daily, or even minute by minute basis, and make me want to stop and watch what it does. It creates a multitude of moods, and enriches the human experience in a way that most things don't. I love to capture it in images frozen by my camera. Thanks for stopping by!
