At work one day, a coworker mentioned that she lived in a house that backed up to a wildlife sanctuary, or small refuge. Her back yard was on a small hill that overlooked the area, and she and her family often saw wildlife and other beautiful sights on a regular basis. I asked permission to bring my camera and see what I would see that evening. As I watched the sun go down, I noticed a few tendrils of fog forming on the far side of the area laid out before me. As I watched, the fog started forming closer and closer to me. Time went on and the fog thickened as the sun set. Soon it became blue hour, that magic time when fog, water and skies register as an absolutely gorgeous blue on the camera's sensor. The fog continued to thicken in the low area before me, and I continued to capture its beauty. Finally the fog overwhelmed my position, and the incredible show was over.

Light fascinates me. It changes constantly, and never stops creating new versions of even familiar objects and scenes we look at every day. It can surprise and awe me on a daily, or even minute by minute basis, and make me want to stop and watch what it does. It creates a multitude of moods, and enriches the human experience in a way that most things don't. I love to capture it in images frozen by my camera. Thanks for stopping by!
